Fire safety certificates

Fire safety certificate is a document certifying the conformity of the certification object to the fire safety requirements.

Product certification in the sphere of fire safety is performed for the purpose of confirmation of the conformity of products to the fire safety requirements and is conducted under the current legislation of the Russian Federation.

Under Federal law “Concerning the Fire Safety” the List of products subject to the obligatory certification in the field of the fire safety was approved (Order of the Ministry of Emergency Situations No. 320 dated Jul 08, 2002). The List includes:

  • Fire safety facilities
  • Substances and materials
  • Engineering structures and units
  • Electrical devices and appliances
  • Heat producing devices

On May 01, 2009 Federal Law No. 123-FZ “Technical Regulations on Fire Safety Requirements” dated 22.07.2008 came into effect. This law establishes general fire safety requirements to the protection objects (products), including buildings, constructions and industrial facilities, fire-fighting and general-purpose products.

The confirmation of compliance of protection objects (products) with the fire safety requirements is made within the territory of the RF voluntarily or obligatorily.

The voluntary confirmation of conformity of the protection objects (products) to the fire safety requirements is made in the manner of voluntary certification.

The obligatory confirmation of conformity of protection objects (products)is made in the manner of declaration of conformity or by way of obligatory certification. The general-purpose protection objects (products) and fire-fighting products are subject to the obligatory confirmation of conformity to the fire safety requirements.
